About 4K Red River

4K Red River is our family of lodging businesses in the town of Red River. We operate the River Ranch and our 4K View property. We're located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains (the southern Rockies) of northern New Mexico at about 8750 feet. Come on up!

4K River Ranch

Our historic 17-acre base camp with RV sites, apartments, and rustic cabins; we're family and pet friendly. We have a trout pond and the Red River flows through the park. We're an easy mile from the center of town, where you'll find our other property.

Our fully furnished overnight rental close to great shopping and dining. This is a spacious retreat; it has a deck with a grill, a well appointed kitchen and living space, laundry facility, and hot tub! 4K View is located over our store, Frye's Old Town and Jewelry Lady in the center of town.

Enjoy Our trout Pond

4K River Ranch offers two convenient places to fish. A beautiful feature of our campground is our centrally located seasonally stocked pond, with a variety of trout. The Red River also winds through our property, for even more fishing!

(NOTE: You will need to obtain a NM fishing license to fish the river. You do not need a NM fishing license to fish in our pond. Our trout pond policy is catch and keep, two per person/day.)

Mountain Conditions Exist

Bring plenty of water and stay hydrated - be prepared! Some people find chlorophyll supplements are helpful to take prior to arriving, especially if you are coming from sea level. Our electricity and wifi sources are good, but mountain conditions beyond our control do exist! While we are happy to provide you free WiFi throughout the campsite, it is not guaranteed and does go down. That's life in the mountains! The strongest cell service here is Verizon, but again we're in the mountains so it's weak in areas. And...unplugging is a good thing.

More On Our Little Piece of Heaven...

Red River is located on the Enchanted Circle in northern New Mexico, and you can't get here by interstate - it's a two-lane highway pretty much everywhere. Each town and village along the Circle has its own brand of cool. Questa, 10 miles down the road from us, is the gateway to the Rio Grande del Norte National Monument and the Wild Rivers Recreation Area. Taos has the ancient Pueblo and Rio Grande Gorge Bridge, plus a regionally renowned art community. Angel Fire has a great public golf course and country club, plus miles of mountain biking trails. Eagle Nest has a huge lake - salmon and trout are the species! Of course, we are partial to Red River and believe that it's the perfect home base for all your adventures. Our town has a daily trolley that takes your family to our casual dining, watering holes, live music and a main street for shopping – or you can pretty much park your car and walk everywhere. It's a mile and half long and three streets wide, surrounded by a massive forest. Our highest peak, Wheeler Peak, is 13,200 high. Come on up, spend your vacation with us, and explore!
